Copperhill Brewery

Copperhill Brewery sits on the Tennessee – Georgia Border

Copperhill Brewery is just a 20 or so minute drive away from Turtletown Falls, located in Copperhill, Tennessee. If you have never been to Copperhill, it is literally on the Tennessee border. On the Georgia side is McCaysville. The two cities are considered twin cities. You can walk along the sidewalk and go back and forth from the GA and TN border. The town sits on a river. In Tennessee it is the Ocoee River, and in Georgia it is the Toccoa River.

Half of the brewery is in TN and the other is in GA!

Copperhill Brewery sits on the border, literally. Half of the brewery is in TN and the other is in GA! The brewery is also mining themed, which is a nod to the historic copper mining industry of the area. Copperhill Brewery had several beers on tap and different liquor drinks as well from Ocoee River Distilling.

While we were there, we tried four different beers. I tried the Dragon Slayer Sour and Luscious Vienna Lager. The Vienna lager was very good, but as always I am a sucker for a good sour, especially when it is a bright red! The Dragon Slayer was tart, fruity, and refreshing. Jesse had the Sunny Dayz Golden Ale and the Ginger Spice Seasonal Winter Stout. Jesse really liked both beers, but for a lighter post-hike beer, pick the Sunny Dayz.

There is plenty of indoor seating and some outside seating as well at this brewery. It is dog friendly. When we were there, at least 13 beers were on tap. There are also liquor options for those who aren’t big beer drinkers. If you are up in this area, definitely stop by Copperhill Brewery! Where else can you have a beer in two states at once?!

If you’re looking to earn your pint with a nearby hike, the Turtletown Falls trail in Tennessee is a great option, with a forested path, creekside views, and a beautiful waterfall payoff before you head back to Copperhill Brewery.
