Five Wits Brewing – A gem in The Gig City!

After our hike at Cloudland Canyon State Park, we decided to head to Chattanooga – the Tennessee city has 15 breweries to pick from! Because we were out on a Sunday, we chose a brewery that was open later and one that we had never been to: Five Wits Brewing Company. This brewery is located right down the street from the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Five Wits has a bar counter, tables, outside seating, and couches to sit at. This brewery offers food, and we had a waitress. This is not something we typically experience at breweries, but the service was great, and we had nothing to complain about!

Five Wits is a great brewery with a family atmosphere, and is dog-friendly.

We ordered three different beers at Five Wits. Jesse ordered the Alpine Highway Saison and New Fruit Goofin, which was a seasonal berry sour. I ordered Sasha Red (a plum sour, and another seasonal) and New Fruit Goofin. Sasha Red has a higher ABV and was served in a smaller pour. It had more of a liquor taste, and I was not ready for how strong it was! Our favorite beer we tried that night was New Fruit Goofin – it’s hard to go wrong with a refreshing fruit sour!

We also ordered food while we were there. I got the southwestern salad and Jesse got a Philly cheese steak. It was a great post-hike beer and meal combo! Five Wits also has liquor cocktails and wine just in case you aren’t in the beer mood on your visit. Five Wits is a great brewery with a family atmosphere, and is dog-friendly. We will definitely be back!

Tips for your trip to Five Wits Brewing Company in Chattanooga

Five Wits is family friendly.
Five Wits has several giant TVs – plenty of people were watching different games at the bar.
If you have time to spare in Chattanooga, go watch the sunset on the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge. This iconic bridge passes over the Tennessee River. We were able to get a great view of the sunset from there.
