Schoolhouse Brewing
Schoolhouse Brewing Brings the Nostalgia
Schoolhouse is decorated inside with Christmas lights, bus seats, chalkboards, and signs that say things like “Principal’s Office,” “Cafeteria,” and “Teachers’ Lounge.” Even the tap handles are pencils! If you loved school when you were little, you will love the nostalgia this place brings. This place is right up my alley!
After a hike at Sope Creek Trail, this is the perfect place to go! Family and dog friendly in an amazing setting.

While we were there, they had several different types of beer on tap. They also had seltzer, margarita, and wine options. I tried the Dogs Gone Wild Kolsch (also a benefit beer for the Homeless Pets Foundation) and the Extra Dry Cider. Jesse tried the Who Hash: Vol. 2 IPA and the Tart Vader Fruited Berliner Weisse. We also tried something different and split the sangria. I loved all three of my drinks, but they are all hard to compare because they are so different. If you need something light, get the Dogs Gone Wild. If you want a great cider, definitely order it! If beer isn’t your thing, the sangria is a great option. Jesse liked the Tart Vader most on this visit.
A True Family-Friendly Brewery
If you’re looking for a brewery where the whole family can actually relax and have a good time, Schoolhouse Brewing is worth checking out. This place gets it = they know that sometimes you want to enjoy a great craft beer without having to leave the kids (or your pup) at home. They’ve got a generous outdoor seating area where everyone can spread out and get comfortable, plus they’ve thoughtfully stocked up on books and games to keep the little ones entertained while you’re savoring your flight. It’s one of those rare spots where “family-friendly brewery” isn’t just a tagline – they’ve really thought through what that means.

And here’s the fun part: they’ve got a whole arcade tucked away in something they call the Teachers’ Lounge, plus a separate video game area for anyone who wants to get their game on. So whether you’ve got kids who need to burn off some energy or you’re just a grown-up who loves a good round of pinball, there’s something for everyone. But wait, it gets better—if you find yourself falling in love with their craft beers and feeling inspired, you can actually take some of that magic home with you. They sell home brew kits right there at the brewery. Talk about some fun homework, right? It’s like they’re encouraging you to become a student of brewing yourself.
This is not our first time at Schoolhouse – it’s a Marietta classic and always fun to visit. We look forward to the next time, and hope that you will make a stop, too.
Happy Trails,
Katie & Jesse
