Monday Night Brewing

We visited Monday Night Brewing in Atlanta!

For the next stop of the day, we visited another very successful Georgia-grown brewery: Monday Night Brewing in the West Midtown area of Atlanta. The location, which is the company’s first location, is only 5.6 miles away from SweetWater Brewing. Monday Night has another location in Atlanta (The Garage), plus more locations in Nashville TN, Birmingham AL, and Charlotte NC.

The West Midtown location is the original production brewery for Monday Night Brewing. There is a taproom and kitchen with both indoor and outdoor seating. Outside the taproom is a long porch with many picnic tables and shady trees. There is also a window to get beer from instead of going back inside the taproom for a drink.

Inside the taproom there is a drink counter and a Hop Hut, which had additional drinks. Monday Night is cozy inside, and you can play darts, order pizza, and dogs are allowed inside the taproom as well. The staff is also really friendly!

Jesse tried two beers. The first one was Dr. Robot, a berry lemon sour with a 5% ABV. He also tried the Surround Sound, which is an American Pilsner with a 4.5% ABV. Jesse liked the Dr. Robot better and did not like the Surround Sound because it had such a strong flavor. I had the Key Lime Dr. Robot and Conversations With Myself. Both of these beers are sours.

The Key Lime Dr. Robot was 5% ABV and was just as it sounds – key limey! I liked it a lot. The Conversations With Myself was unlike any sour I have ever tried – it is an apricot sour aged in white wine barrels. This also had a higher ABV at 6.8%. If you get the opportunity to try this beer, do it! If you are a sour fan, you will love it! It is only available in the taproom – if Conversations with Myself was sold in stores, I would get it all the time.

Monday Night’s classic necktie theme and official motto “Weekends Are Overrated” derived from the founders’ white-collar background. In 2023, Monday Night ditched its classic black-and-white necktie guy theme for a full vibrant rebrand. The brewery was founded in 2006 by Jonathan Baker, Jeff Heck, and Joel Iverson in Atlanta, Georgia.

Happy Trails,
Katie and Jesse
