Piedmont Brewery in Griffin GA
After our hike at High Falls State Park, we went back to the campsite, cleaned up, and typed into Google “breweries near me.” Our trusty search phrase led us to Piedmont Brewery in Griffin.
Piedmont Brewery is located in downtown historic Griffin
Just two exits up I-75 North (about 25 minutes away) is this gem of a brewery in Griffin, Georgia. Piedmont Brewery has two locations – one in Griffin and one in Macon. If you are visiting High Falls State Park and heading home southbound, you can drive about 35 minutes to get to the Macon location.
Piedmont Brewery is located in downtown historic Griffin. This brewery offers food and drinks. But what makes this brewery unique? It is split into two sections – the family section and the 18+ bar section. We have been to so-so-so many breweries. Typically breweries are family friendly places. Sometimes breweries have areas that are geared towards families, and sometimes you have kids running around like wild animals. But Piedmont literally is in two sections. If you don’t want to sit amongst kids, you don’t have to! I think this is thoughtful and accommodating to all kinds of people. Gold star for you, Piedmont!
That being said, this brewery is pretty much perfect! While we were there, 15 beers were on tap. The beers were categorized into easy drinkers, sours, hoppy, malts, and bottles/cans. I love a brewery that has fun with their beer names, and you can tell the brewers here definitely do. While there, we tried the Anchovy Saison, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Japanese rice lager, Groovin’ sour, Run Around Sue sour, and the Sunshine Daydream IPA. Every beer we had was great. The Anchovy Saison was light and a little fruity, and rice lager was crisp and refreshing.

But hands down the best (and possibly one of the best beers we have had in all of 2025) was the Run Around Sue sour. As I have mentioned in previous articles, we are a sucker for a good sour. But if the sour is inspired by a dessert, then we will have to try it (and we will most likely love it). This beer was a blueberry pie sour made with milk sugar, vanilla, graham cracker, cinnamon, and blueberry puree. It was just as amazing as it sounds. If you visit and this is currently on tap, you have got to try it!
If you visit and beers aren’t your thing, you are in luck. Piedmont’s drink menu includes non-alcoholic beer, red wines, white wines, cocktails, and thc/cbd drinks. Piedmont also has a large food menu. Piedmont has an arcade game corner, bar seating, and outside seating.
Next time we head out for a weekend at High Falls State Park, we will be including a visit to Piedmont Brewery. If you are passing through Griffin or just survived the Falls View Trail, be sure to get a cold one at Piedmont!
